Welcome to the 2008 Budweiser Vermont Golden Gloves Tournament, the largest amateur boxing event in northern New England! The road to a National Golden Gloves title starts here tonite.
 
Both Novice & Open class boxers will competing in this tournament. Novice Champions advance to the New England Novice Championships in Lowell, MA on February 12th & 15th. Open class Champions advance to the New England Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions, also in Lowell, on February 19th & 20th. Tickets for these events can be purchased through Ticket Master @ 978-937-8688.
 
The National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions will take place in Grand Rapids, Michigan from May 4th through the 9th.
 
Plans are underway for upcoming matches this spring, summer and fall. Check out our website vermontgoldengloves.com for the dates of these events and others.
 
Myself along with, former Golden Glover, Alan Rubel have been busy putting together the book titled "Gloves". It's a compilation of short and sometimes lengthy stories of boxers, along with pictures, not only from the state of Vermont but the entire region. "Gloves" will bring back memories as well as  recognize some of the people who brought excitement to our sport.  Pick up a copy. You'll enjoy "Gloves".
